  21. It seems the majority are in favor of a news group. I would prefer a
  22. regular newsgroup to an alt.*, but an alt.* might be a good solution
  23. until the real comp.* group gets going.

  25. The location for this group should allow for growth and should be
  26. relevant to the topics we are discussing. Putting this under
  27. comp.graphics.raytracing.lw-3d, comp.sys.graphics.lw-3d, or
  28. comp.graphics.lw-3d is not the best place since what we are really
  29. discussing are NewTek systems and products; Toaster (Switcher,
  30. CG, ToasterPaint, ChromaFX,) Flyer, ScreamerNet, Lightwave, Modeler, etc.

  32. I believe the following hierarchy make much more sense.

  34.     comp.sys.newtek.*
  35.  
  36.         comp.sys.newtek                 Announcments, rumors, gripes, etc.
  37.         comp.sys.newtek.lightwave       Lightwave & Modeler
  38.         comp.sys.newtek.toaster         Switcher, CG, Paint, ChromaFX
  39.         comp.sys.newtek.flyer           Toaster Flyer
  40.         comp.sys.newtek.net             Networking
  41.     comp.sys.newtek.3rdparty    AlphaPaint, Montage, etc.
  42.         comp.sys.newtek.forsale         If you want it, here it is!

  44. This is the type of discussion goes on once the RFD has been made,
  45. and I will repost this message to news.groups once the RFD gets posted.
